Every year millions of Americans take the time to create a New Year resolution and plan. While the new year is a great time to set a plan for life improvements, many folks end up selling that workout equipment, canceling that membership, or just never actually starting "that thing". What do statistics say? We have the scoop on 2024 resolutions and what the numbers are. Read more to learn more about your resolution!
Your Resolutions in Numbers
According to a recent poll by Forbes, the top resolutions for 2024 are:
Improved fitness (48%)
Improved finances (38%)
Improved mental health (36%)
Lose weight (34%)
Improved diet (32%)
Travel More (6%)
While it may not be a big surprise that these are top contenders, what may further surprise you are the numbers for those who ACTUALLY stick to their resolutions. The Forbes Health/One Poll survey found that the average resolution lasts just 3.74 months. Only 8% of respondents tend to stick with their goals for one month, while 22% last two months, 22% last three months and 13% last four months. There are even unofficial days to commemorate the failure to commit to the resolution (look up January 17th and June 1st for celebration ideas).
How to Achieve Your Resolutions
